Welcome Note and Plans for On One

Hello! So nice to meet you. We are On One Blog, a fun, bright, positive pop culture and personal blog site made by me, a current college student. This is just for fun right now, but we have big plans. Keep reading for more insight into who we are and what to expect from us!

Who are we? Welcome to On One Blog, the official first manifestation of On One, a media company of sorts I have been dreaming of starting for nearly a year when my friends and I were bouncing around the idea of starting a podcast. (Though the podcast has yet to come to fruition, it's in the works ;) In the meantime, this website is merely a passion project for me since I love writing, graphic design, and just generally sharing my thoughts. Also, as an artsy sophomore in college studying PR, I thought having a blog would be a great fun and productive hobby for me.

So what is On One blog all about? Well, anything we want! Our articles are generally focused on life in college, news updates on our favorite artists, shows, & celebrities, sharing our favorite things of the week, and maybe some occasional profile pieces with interviews but you'll just have to wait and see. These articles will be sorted into 5 main sections; OBSESSED in which we share the top 5 things we're obsessed with each week, The Time I... in which we share crazy stories from our lives, Update! in which we share news about our favorite our favorite shows, music, & celebrities, Slay or Nay in which we explore a topic and decide if we think it's a slay or if it's a nay, and Advice column Name in which we give advice to a problem one of our readers (like you!) submitted to our Say Anything page.

What should you expect? Three Articles will be posted a week, and the sections posted to will mainly differ week-by-week. Any posting schedule is TBD for now. We hope to grow naturally and eventually start a podcast and sell merch but it should be noted that is a ways away. For now we hope you will take us how we are and enjoy all we currently have to offer.

Who is the founder? Heyyy, I'm Emmalene McMahon. I'm from Charlotte, North Carolina but I currently attend college in Boston. I love scrapbooking, going out with friends, traveling, and I'm a BIG pop culture girlie. I listen to music from nearly every genre from 80s new wave, to contemporary R&B, to Celtic folk songs. My top artists however are Lana Del Rey, Charli xcx, The Smiths, and Alanis Morissette. My two favorite shows/ series are Sex and the City, RuPaul's Drag Race, and Game of Thrones - I'll binge anything lmao - demonstrating my media consumption versatility. My favorite movies are The Breakfast Club, What We Do In The Shadows, and Jennifer's Body. On Youtube I watch Smosh, Brittany Broski, and Tara Yummy religiously. This is just a peek into my media consumption so maybe I'll do a deep dive article on it sometime in the future... stay tuned for that & until then, stay On One my lovelies!
